The faithful of Meeting of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church joyfully celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy with the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great. Following the service, our parishioners participated in a procession with icons, circling our place of gathering in a powerful witness to the victory of Orthodox teaching. With icons in hand, both young and old proclaimed the truth of our faith, commemorating the triumph of Holy Orthodoxy.
This Sunday was made even more special as our community welcomed two newborn members, Mateo Delić and Stefan Zdravković. Their families brought them to church for the first time, where prayers of blessing were read for their mothers, Vladica and Marieta. The infants were then churched, receiving their first formal introduction into the House of the Lord. We pray that they grow in faith, strength, and wisdom, nurtured by Christ and His Holy Church.
Later in the afternoon, our parishioners joined the broader Orthodox community of Naples at St. Paul’s Church for a pan-Orthodox celebration. Alongside our brothers and sisters from St. Paul, St. Peter, St. Demetrius, and St. Polycarp, we participated in a solemn and inspiring service, honoring the unity of the Orthodox faith. We are grateful to the St. Paul community for their warm hospitality and for preparing delicious refreshments that allowed us to continue our fellowship.
This year’s Sunday of Orthodoxy was a true testament to the strength of our faith and the bond we share as Orthodox Christians. May the Lord continue to bless and guide our parish and all Orthodox communities in Naples!
