This past Sunday, October 27, our parish gathered in joyful celebration of the feast day of St. Petka, along with St. James, and St. Luke. The Divine Liturgy was filled with many parishioners in attendance, each coming together to honor the memory of these beloved saints.
The service was a moving reminder of the profound dedication and courage of St. Petka, known for her love and sacrifice; St. James, the first bishop of Jerusalem; and St. Luke, the apostle and evangelist. Together, these saints represent pillars of faith, and devotion to God’s teachings, inspiring each of us to reflect on our own journey of faith.
Following the service, a meal of love was served, graciously prepared by Branislava Cirakovic with her family, along with Nedeljka and Aleksandra Drazic, Danka Malivuk, and Ana Nikolic with all the members of the adult folklore group. Among those in attendance were many familiar faces, as well as new friends, including parishioners returning from the north to spend the winter months with us in Naples. We were also blessed by the presence of a group from St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, who joined us in sharing the joy of the feast.
After the luncheon, the ladies from our adult folklore group began the celebration with their traditional dances and choreographies, bringing energy and festivity to the day. Many joined in the dancing, enjoying the music and the spirit of fellowship that filled the room.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this special day. May the intercessions of St. Petka, St. James, and St. Luke continue to bless and guide our parish as we grow in faith and unity.
